Bannockburn Heritage Centre (10 miles)
Visit the site of the Battle of Bannockburn and learn the story of Robert the Bruce’s victory over the invading English army – one of Scotland’s greatest military triumphs.
Blairdummond Safari Park (5 miles)
A hugely popular family attraction and home to over 350 rare and exotic animals – a fun day out for all.
Briarlands farm ( 5 miles )
Children’s farm offering tractor tours, meet the animals experiences as well as a delicious café and craft area. Café includes a soft play centre. The farm also offers strawberry picking and bespoke events.
Doune Castle (1 mile away)
Off Doune Main Street you’ll find Doune Castle, originally built by the Regent Albany and filming location for Monty Python and the Holy Grail and more recently Outlander.
Doune Ponds (1 mile away)
Located at the western-end of Doune, this award-winning nature reserve is a great place to take a picnic and enjoy sights of ducks, swans and other water fowl.
Deanston Distillery (2 miles)
If you’re looking for something warming to drink while relaxing at the cottage, why not try a trip to Deanston distillery for a tour or to pick up some local whisky? The café is also well worth a visit.
Dunblane (3 miles)
Home to Andy Murray you can visit the gold letterbox which was repainted after he won his Olympic gold medal. Just beyond the High Street you will find the magnificent cathedral in which there is a splendid modern tracker action organ built in the style of those that would have been played by JS Bach and his contemporaries. There are frequent recitals from both resident and visiting organists.
Glasgow and Edinburgh are both reached by train or road in an hour and offer a wealth of cultural activities. Do check them out.

Stirling Castle (8 Miles)
Steeped in history, Stirling Castle sits on an imposing crag overlooking Stirling. Learn the history of the castle and sample the delicious café for a good day out.
The Wallace Monument (7 miles)
Visit the memorial to the Scottish war hero and learn the story of his great military victory at the Battle of Stirling Bridge.
